A Hampshire
village (pop.3500) on the A31, 4 miles south of Alton and 12
miles north of Winchester, situated on an elevated chalk
ridge 220 metres above sea level. This makes it, along with
the neighbouring village of Medstead the highest settlement
in East Hampshire.
Four Marks has changed a lot in recent years
the Parish Council have refurbished the village shopping
area making it much more attractive, built a BMX /
skateboard park and are in the early stages of building a
new children's play area. There are many new housing developments,
Barratt's
Meadowbrook one of them.
Look at the
Photo Gallery
for images of
the village and countryside as well as old photos showing
what Four Marks used to look like and our
Primary School is the best in the local area.
The objective of
this website is to provide information on Four Marks for
residents and visitors. In particular to help those who are
thinking of moving to our village, new residents who have
moved to the village learn a little bit more about the area,
its history, and community activities.
Four Marks has
much to offer, it is a safe village thanks to our Street
Watch volunteers and our Primary School is the best in the
area. We strive to keep Four Marks a village and have on
ongoing action group to help in this.
